General Information

Worldsensing S.L., headquartered in Barcelona, operates as a core technology provider focused on bridging the gap between physical infrastructure and digital information systems. To ensure the seamless in-field delivery and integration of its remote monitoring solutions, the company actively collaborates with leading technical experts, such as its key regional partner, Geotech International Pte Ltd, based in Hanoi, Vietnam. By combining Worldsensing’s cutting-edge wireless IoT technology with Geotech International’s robust hands-on engineering and fieldwork capabilities, the partnership delivers scalable, low-maintenance monitoring solutions. Their shared vision centers on driving site automation, achieving strict regulatory compliance, and ensuring long-term asset performance and safety in the most challenging environments.

Business Sector

Worldsensing operates primarily within the wireless geotechnical, geospatial, and structural monitoring sectors. The company focuses on replacing traditional, manual, and heavily cabled monitoring systems with low-power, wide-area IoT networks, placing its operations at the intersection of advanced telecommunications, civil engineering, and industrial safety. Worldsensing serves asset-heavy industries where risk prevention and structural integrity are paramount, focusing specifically on mining, civil infrastructure, construction, and transport monitoring. Through its strategic partnership with Geotech International, the business footprint extends to comprehensive geotechnical engineering services, insitu testing, hydropower development, mineral exploration, hydro-geology, embankment dam design, and construction management.

Application

The solutions provided are designed to safely and cost-effectively collect critical data for implementing preventative maintenance and ensuring ESG and regulatory compliance across various demanding projects. Geotechnically, the technology is used to gather ground movement, pore water pressure, and cross-crack movement data via specialized sensors. In geospatial and structural applications, the systems track land subsidence, mining-induced ground instability, building integrity vibrations, settlement, heave, and loads in ground anchors and rock bolts. These applications are critical for high-risk projects, including open-pit and underground mines, tailings storage facilities, dams, tunnels, retaining walls, deep excavations, and railway track geometries. Furthermore, the systems can be adapted for environmental monitoring of soil, air, and water quality, as well as remote process monitoring to optimize maintenance operations.

Products

Edge Devices (Data Loggers): Robust devices engineered to wirelessly transmit sensor data to centralized systems, including Vibrating Wire Data Loggers, Digital Data Loggers, and Analog Data Loggers.

Wireless Sensors: A proprietary line of integrated sensors comprising standard Tiltmeters, Laser Tiltmeters, Vibration Meters, and GNSS Meters specialized for continuous displacement monitoring in railways and tailings dams.

Core Communications Infrastructure: Hardware built around Long-Range (LoRa) networks designed for harsh environments, featuring Narrowband Gateways, Repeaters, and broadband communication modules capable of transmission ranges up to 15 kilometers.

Management Software: Powerful backend platforms and the Android-based Worldsensing App, which facilitates fast device setup, configuration wizards, radio signal checks, and on-site data sampling.

Engineering and Technical Services: Delivered through Geotech International, these services encompass geotechnical boring, piezocone and Lugeon field permeability testing, 2D and 3D groundwater modeling, dam safety inspection, and comprehensive construction quality control and assurance (QC/QA) testing.
